Cro leadership 2021

It’s been said that “good things come in threes.” PRA Health Sciences’ recognition in recent awards competitions appears to support that adage.

PRA was recently recognized with multiple 2021 CRO Leadership Awards, competing in a crowded field of high performing Contract Research Organizations (CROs) for the honors. PRA received 2021 CRO Leadership Awards in the following categories:

  • Capabilities (Small Pharma)
  • Reliability (Overall, Small Pharma)
  • Quality (Small Pharma)

Each year, industry publication Life Science Leader and online resource for clinical research Clinical Leader team up with Industry Standard Research (ISR) to determine award recipients. The awards are based upon customer feedback, with winners chosen through impartial market research from experiential data received from sponsor companies that utilize CRO services.

Sixty CROs were assessed on more than 20 performance metrics in ISR’s annual CRO Quality Benchmarking survey during the 2021 competition. Survey participants were recruited from pharmaceutical and biopharma companies of all sizes, evaluating only CROs that have worked on an outsourced project for them within the past 18 months. Organizations honored with awards proved themselves to be the top performers in the categories of Capabilities, Compatibility, Expertise, Phase IV, Quality, and Reliability.

One of America’s Best Employers

PRA’s recognition in the 2021 CRO Leadership Awards comes on the heels of two other wins for PRA. In February, PRA was named one of America’s Best Large Employers for 2021 by global media company Forbes. This recognition is based entirely on employee feedback.

PRA was the only CRO to make the list of America’s Best Large Employers for 2021, ranking #168 out of 500 companies. PRA also earned the distinction of ranking #7 out of more than 20 companies in the Drugs and Biotechnology category.

Forbes teamed with market research company Statista to identify the companies most liked by employees for this annual recognition. Approximately 50,000 employees in 25 different industries working for companies with at least 1,000 employed in their US locations were asked to both rate their willingness to recommend their own organizations, as well as evaluate other companies in their respective industries.

Vision—and Disruption

PRA’s Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer, Kent Thoelke, completed PRA’s “hat trick” of three consecutive wins when he was recognized with a 2021 PM360 ELITE Award in May.

PM360, a monthly publication described as the premier magazine for marketing decision makers in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries, recognizes the most powerful minds and most influential people in the healthcare industry—true catalysts who create extraordinary results—with ELITE Awards.

Kent was awarded for being a disrupter—and that’s a good thing. A disrupter is someone who isn’t afraid to disrupt the status quo and change the way the clinical research industry operates.

Kent’s award recognizes the truly visionary and pioneering change he’s brought to PRA and the healthcare and clinical research industry. Several years ago, Kent championed a new vision for PRA—one that anticipated how digital technologies would disrupt clinical research—and foresaw the opportunities it would present for reducing inefficiencies and resolving challenges of the traditional site-based model. Since then, he has led PRA’s transformation to an agile organization that uses data, technology, and a comprehensive deck of customized solutions to see the complete picture of healthcare research.

PRA’s incredible track record is all due to the talent of our dedicated, hard-working, and passionate employees around the globe. These accolades represent the respect and appreciation PRA has earned for performing life-saving work each and every day on behalf of patients, clients, and the global community.
